Jeep Wrangler

Hey all! My name's Dalton and I'm new to the diesel world. I'm currently driving an '06 Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited(2 door, but long wheel base) I love doing all the modifications on it and it's truly a blast. But for the time being, I'm starting to realize the lack of cargo space and power. Sure, there's modifications everywhere... But none of the modifications short of a v8 or stroking it really give you any power... So I know diesels are highly modifiable, and there's a huge following for them, which brought me to start my search for a first gen cummins. But i'm gonna take it slow and wait for the perfect truck. Gotta be extended cab, 4x4, 5 speed, power windows and locks, etc... I've got a first gen gasser in storage right now, less then 55k miles on, looks brand new to be honest. Which is really what's making me want to go for the first gen cummins. Anyways, long story short my name's Dalton and I hope to be talking with you guys a lot in the future. :c:

Good luck with the search. You can't beat the Cummins diesels. I love mine and have over 405,000 miles on it curently

Yeah I'm looking for that long term engine life haha, especially with the long drives to come. I can't handle my 12 MPG I'm currently getting and not be getting the benefits of a truck at least. Thought I found the perfect one, guess it was sold in a day. Oh well :w2:

Yeah you have to be really quick because these diesel Dodges sell REALLY fast... I also have a 2010 wrangler I bought new and I only have 21,000 miles on it. Stays in the garage all winter.

Hey all! Thanks for the kind words. I'm going to check out a '93 Cummins, extended cab LE tomorrow... has 253k miles but it's rust free and starts right up from cold... Is there any reason that would be too high of a mileage to buy a truck with? Or is it pretty acceptable? I know they can get high mileage, but I'd like to hear some opinions!:c:

dieselram94 02-14-2014 11:04 AM

I would consider that low miles... it's more important that it's in clean condition...
