from Dmax to Cummins
i All.
I'm a recent convert having just parked my 04 Duramax in favor of a 1998 1/2 24v Ram 3500. My new beast has 340,000km (210,000mi), rebuilt automatic and a recent replacement of lift and injector pumps. I am assuming the replacement lift pump is a stock unit. Rear air bags will help steady the load as we pull 24' 5th wheel or a 4 horse LQ goose neck trailer, the latter weighing about 15,000 lbs empty.. I enjoy Backcountry riding and have a small herd of mostly gaited Rocky Moutain horses that not only get us into some seriously remote places for camping, fishing and hunting they pack it out too.. I have done my share of wrenching in the past but now I would be just as happy paying someone to do the work rather than stuffing my crippled old frame under my rig.. I don't plan on any serious mods, fuel pressure and pyro gauges unless something like the Edge insight will cover both of these.. a programmer is possible depending on how well it pulls the horse trailer.. Looking forward to learning what works and what doesn't with these trucks. |
