INtroduction

I am a refrigeration efficiency expert, and am interested in re-use of various oils for fuel. Own a 2002 Ford F350 with a 7.3 liter engine. Have purchased a 300 rpm centrifugal filter for about $1000 and have filtered a few small batches. Burned 5 gallons of new gear oil in 15 gallons of pump diesel, and it worked fine. Been establishing contacts with local shops to get waste tranny oil and crankcase oil. I have noted that there is some smoking that is embarrassing, and want to get that under control. Just made a batch today, about 12 gallons in my almost empty tank, lot of red gear oils in it. The truck smoked after a few miles, so I bought 19 gallons of pump diesel. It significantly reduced smoke, but she still does smoke a bit. I would like not to create a unpleasant environment for those behind me. Recently read a study on lube, and saw that adding a quart of biodiesel is one of the best things for lubrication. If bio were not such a hassle, I would be more inclined to make that. I am hoping to get the waste motor oil process figured out to make healthy use of WMO.
