Newbie, (to forum) in need of assistance.

Where to start? Well, I grew up around and worked, a good deal of my life, on and with heavy truck and boat diesels. I'm not new to the game but I stopped wrenching over ten years ago. I am not well versed on electronic/computer control systems but am not scared of them either.
Now on to my nightmare. My boss did some horse trading for two trucks in exchange for doing an engine swap. One of the two trucks (the donor) was an '84 6.2 Chevy from which the engine was removed and replaced with a 350 gas motor. The recipient is a '94 3500 4wd turbo 6.5, which had a cracked block (12" long), a blown head gasket and toasted head. Guy says he was quoted $1700 by someone who does this swap "all the time". I am finding that very hard to believe. Anyway..... as it sits now, the 6.2 block with 6.5 heads, turbo, electronic IP and timing cover has been installed and I am trying to get it fired up. I have fuel all the way up to the IP but I am not getting any fuel out of the injector lines. I disconnected the plug going to (what I assume is) the fuel shut off selenoid (upright cylindrical object, top driver's side of the IP, w/ 2 wires coming out of the top) and tested the harness plug for power. I have 12 v. on one side of the plug and 8 v. on the other.

It sounds like you need to get a look at your lift pump if your not getting fuel to the injectors.

Lift pump is getting the fuel all the way up to the IP.
