Hello from North Texas

I bought a 2011 GMC 2500 about a year ago because My wife and I were planning on getting a 5th wheel rv. My prior truck was a Chevy 6.0 gasser. That thing would pass anything but a gas station. After a couple of trips to Colorado (not towing) I realized this was not the truck we needed to tow with. I started looking at the diesel trucks, wasn't prejudice against any brand. I think what was the selling point on the Gmc was the allison trans. I liked the looks of the Ford and the reputation of the Cummings. The Ford had a new unproven engine and the Dodge had a reputation for trans failures unless it was a manual. Also when my Daughter in law's step-dad went to work for a Gmc dealer that also helped make up my mind. We have since purchased a 5th wheel rv as my parents have decided they are ready to give up the camping life due to their health and age. We bought their trailer, 1996 Damon Challenger, and have made one trip to Brownwood Lake Texas and another to Creede Colorado. The tuck pulls like a dream. I think the only compliant I would have is the fuel mileage. Its not bad but without the regen process I believe it would easily get 20 to 22 mpg empty. So far the best I have got is 19 and that was only once. It has done 18 several times. Pulling to Colorado we got 9.8 going up and 10.5 coming home.

:hellox:you can put a dpf delete kit on your truck. But you may want to wait for the warrenty to end before doing it.But it's up to you.:hellox:

I have plan on doing just that after the warranty is up. I just hope they dont start emission testing diesel vehicles here like they do gas ones. They do this once a year for state inspections in some county's around big city's like Dallas and Houston.
