case 580l backhoe question
 

is there anyway to make the seat a little stiffer and not so dang easy to bottom out on these? I use one of my neighbors as he has 3. and the 2 I have driven both have seats that just bottom and bounce all over the place. the one I use most has 3700 hrs on it and the other has 7800. But the both ride the same in that area. any help is appreciated as I hate the way my back feels after running it 8 hrs. it's like a 2002 or 2003 2wd open cab thats the one I drive most the other is a 4x4 enclosed cab around same year. both with the same seat

there should be some type of adjustment, look for a turn knob should be right between you legs when you sitting on the seat...

some had knobs and some were air suspension...i had to replace several of the air suspension on some 580's when i worked for CASE. kinda a pain in the ass. stkdram55 is rite about that adjustment knob..if ur sittin in the seat, its on the underside, rite between ur legs..but with those kind of hours on them, its possible the suspension is just wore the hell out.

thanks guys I will check that out. but his 3rd tractor has 5300 hrs on it and the seat is awesome. how much of a bitch is it to work on the air suspension or what can be done?

its easier if u pull the seat completely out and work on it...i tried it once with the seat still in, it was a bitch...air line was busted going to it, and it kept fallin down...its heavier than it looks...so i got smart and started pullin them out...CASE offers a several seat kits, ull need machine S/N and model number when u call them...they aint hard to fix, just a lil awkward to pull out of the machine.
