China Diesel Generator

anyone run any of these yet? Looking for a nice backup generator and though this might work for the price as I will have red dye on hand for the tractor anyway.. 12 kW Diesel Generator

anyone work with solar on here?

This is interesting-

China is the largest producer of small diesel engines and generators in the world
I don't know anything about those. As with anything over there like this you worry about the quality of the materials in it.

"Weight: 1270 lbs. (1390 lbs. shipping weight)"

at that weight in a storm i dont want to wheel it around while its hailing and lighting. ill take a gas genarator which is a little easier to wheel around

this is why it's mounted on a pad outside the garage already ready to go.

Need to find an Electric Generator There beside the solar powered flashlights

Does it come with a transfer switch? The only proper and most safe way to run a generator is with a transfer switch. Transfer switches have three selections. Generator...center off...and utility. It prevents you from having the generator and the utility power on at the same time. Which would mess up the wiring in your home. And when installed properly will prevent a backfeed to the utility lines which could prove fatal to lineman working. The utility transformer is a stepdown into your home but becomes a stepup when fed the other way. Any other q's you have feel free to ask, I'm a union electrician. :pca1:

I believe it comes with it all and I am planning on running solar as it's going to cost 30k just to bring power to the corner of my lot well thats just the cost for pge to supply and run wire I still have to trench lay conduit and back fill. so total solar cost 30-50 I figure in the long run not having to spend 100 month on pge will save me. also a lot less digging for me. the price on the generator is killer though
