Duramax Fuel Pump fuse

After removing and lifting the top of the fuse handles seeking a wire to connect a solenoid (to isolate camper battery power (red wire stowed behind fuse panel)) I reinstalled and in checking fuse #18 (FP curcuit) I noted no power to the fuse with the engine running. There is a relay that controls the power to the diesel fuel pump on my 2011 3500HD Chevy Silverado with 6.6 Duramax that is near the fuse. I can not hear/feel the fuel pump (under the drivers side frame rail) running (with engine idling) so was curious if there is another method to this system? I read the oil pressure has to be 7psi for power to get to the pump but still no power to the fuse but with it running it is soon to die when no fuel situation happens. With the engine off the fuse would have no power I suppose. I switched the relay (same kind) with another and no diff. Is this a non issue and power to fuse #18 happens intermittantly? Is there an electrical circuit available of this beast's fuel system or is someone omnipotent?

I am by know means and expert and have yet to work on the newer Dmax trucks but the older versions only the cab and chassis models with twin tanks used that circuit with a transfer pump to pump rear tank into the front tank .

Maybe some one with more experiance will post up .

I have a 2004 Chevy Duramax with a fuel pump problem. The first time it happened I was able to replace the fuel pump relay and it worked fine for over a month. This time when it would not start I replaced the fuel pump relay again but I am still not getting the fuel pump to activate.

Is it some other electrical problem or a problem with the fuel pump itself? How can I check?

Thanks,

Mark

the duramax in the pickup-trucks doesn't have an electric fuel pump unless you're running a FASS or Airdog
