clock spring?

so i just replaced my steering box and lower column bearing, and in the process turned the steering wheel so now my airbag light is on. apparently i have messed up the "clock spring" in the column behind the airbag. does anyone have knowledge of this? can i repair the torn out wires if any or did i just reassemble it wrong and can get away with re centering the clock spring or is it broken???new one is $350 so if i can fix it that would be great.

p.s why is this site so painfully slow at loading pages???

well now i discovered that if i press the plastic knob sticking out from the dash guages it clears the"service airbag" message and then my steering wheel buttons that cycle and adjust the in dash display options work again, sooo i couldnt have totally broken the "clock spring" thingy. if i wait 200 and whatever cycles of the key will the airbag light and service message go away? do i have to recalibrate the clock spring? is it actually broken because my steering wheel buttons do still work??? help im clueless

More than likely you broke the positioner tab off behind the steering wheel. You are going to have to buy a new one. I did the same thing on my suburban. Good luck. Try checking some local salvage yards and just make sure next time you keep your steering wheel tied off so it doesn't turn. Good Luck :c:
