Banks Boost Tubes with Stock Intercooler?

Hey guys, might be a silly question, but I was going to order the banks monster boost tube set(because my stock ones are wearing through) and someone said they wont do me any good, and maybe wont even fit with my stock intercooler? Is this true...?

:humm::humm: they will work but you wont see an increase imo

There are several things to think about.
Bigger diameter hoses will decrease air speed and volume through the hoses and can create a response lag. Air hoses should only be slight bigger than the compressor discharge opening.
Banks created this hoses for use with his Technicooler(built by Valeo according to his specs)

A different hose layout with softer curves accelerates air speed and decreases response loss.
Have in mind that any degree bigger than 10° causes turbulences and air speed slow down.
I don't know about the combination stock intercooler and hoses, but I do know a bit of air flow.
Banks likes to work with an air reservoir in front of the intake- Do you noticed his big bulgy intakes in the past?
They help to slow air movement down and convert it from high velocity into static pressure, which is preferred by the intake.

Just have in mind that every 10° degrees you are able to reduce intake temperature with an upgrade intercooler you will be rewarded with around 3% more power. That sums up!
The neat side affect is you also decrease exhaust temperature by the same amount- providing a longer and healtier engine life.

They are worth while I'm not saying the stocker are real restrictive, but you should see some gains. I haven't looked into them but I know they have a kit that will work with the stock intercooler.
