Between driving dad's 05 and test driving a 04 last week I WANT A DURAMAX.I been looking for a 03 to a 06 extend cab 4x4 man there hard to find (I missed the one I test drove by a hour).Is there anything I need to look out for in these trucks?Yes I still like my cummins and will probably not sell it I'm thinking puller becouse the 12v is cheap to hop up.

What is the problem with the injectors are they just bad or clog easy?

They are prone to premature failure, hence the extended warranty. I'm not sure what the issue was and why they failed, I just know that they do. Maybe one of the other guys will jump in. Only the first few years of Duramax engines have this problem, the heads were re-designed later on to fix this issue. If the injectors have been replaced the truck should be problem free, but you just have to make sure you keep the fuel filter changed regularly and maybe use some additive to safe-guard the injection system. Stanadyne Lubricity Formula or the blue performance bottle work well.
Replacing the injectors can be a pain in the ass. 2500HeavyDuty posted a how-to on here, but at a shop it can set you back $3000 easy. I haven't had to do it, my truck has 140,xxx on it now and it's been problem free. First set was replaced almost right after the truck was purchased new.

the injector harness likes to fail on the lly's ( cost bout $700 to have it replaced at the dealer). MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE FRONT END!!!. the independent front suspension is nice but it tends to go south quick over 100k. i rebiult my front end at 130k and replaced everything (tie rods, ball joints, sabilizer, control arms ect...) it cost a pretty penny and i did all the work myself. other then that stuff its been one hell of a truck. :tu:
