I was wondering why they weren't using the exhaust fuel injection event like Cummins uses.
GM added a ninth injector after the turbo to supply the fuel needed to create heat that will burn off the emissions built up in the exhaust aftertreatment system. A major benefit of this new system includes not having to deal with oil dilution, which results from biodiesel or regular diesel going past the piston rings and getting into the crankcase. In addition, fuel economy should improve with this more precise setup. The good news with the downpipe injector is that you can easily hijack it for a built-in flame thrower exhaust. :rock: |

how does the regeneration of DPF work is it more effective ?

the 9th injector is used for the regens, instead of dumping fuel into the cylinders it injects fuel directly in front of the dpf:tu:

so it may improve mpg over the 2007-2010 models?

it seems to be a big secret with GM, im guessing 370-380hp, and over 700tq...

diesel power said they think its going to be around 750 tq but i think thats a llittle much especially if they want to make that on similar programming and hardware there running now but with pierzo injectors you never know. all i know there getting close to cutting metal with those injection pressures. i guess its going to be around 29,000 psi now.

they are also using a new injection pump, cp4.2, supposed to be able to deliver twice the amount of fuel of that of a cp3:c:
