New Guy needs info..

After having many issues w/ Ford Powerstrokes the time has come for a DuraMax.I need info on which year model to buy, looking for some better fuel economy (currently 7.5 mpg pulling 17.000 # Toyhauler).Looking between 06,07.08,any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The 06, 07 and 08 are basically the same motors except the new NBS 07 and 08 have the emmisions stuff on it and reduce the fuel economy a lil. but it rated at 10 more hp from the factory.

the 06 and 07 are good also, there rated at 350hp from factory and dont have all the emmisions stuff on it the newer style so they will get better fuel mileage

Just gonna correct you here the 06-07 LBZ is rated at 360hp/650tq and the 07.5-09 LMM is rated at 365hp/660tq, and in my opinion really makes 0 difference in the feel of power

the 06-07 LBZ has only the Cat and EGR , as where the LMM has Cat, DPF, EGR, Throttle body, my 06 LBZ gets roughly the same mileage as my bros 07.5 LMM, around 15-19mpg highway

I would choose an LBZ just because there is no DPF, but the LMM is a good engine, and it comes with the new body style and interior

It really comes down to what you want, they are all good trucks:tu:
