4wd problem
When I am in 4wd and get on the fuel the front end is all over the place. I have 33x13.50x18 tires. It just like wobbles back and forth I cant even control it. It also does it in 4wd over 35 mph. What is the best way to fix it.

sounds like your steering stabilizer is bad
|
Either need to stiffen the front end, or replace all the steering components.
|
I had my tie rod ends and steering components checked and they are fine. Just had it aligned. It only does it when I am on the throttle.
|
CV shafts? Check to see if the boots are torn. What about the front drive shaft? Check the u-joints and the slip shaft.
|
I just noticed today when I get on the throttle I can hear one of the front wheels spinning. The truck only has 40,000 miles on it.
|
CV shaft went out.

no noise with it, it does sound like you've broken an axle...:humm:

Check your axles first, I have had a wheel bearing go bad in the front end that will make them act up. One big problem that isnt hard to fix really is on alot of Dodges the frame will crack near the steering gearbox. Hard to see,but look for red rust coming from the crack. If you want to check everything in the front, ties rods, drag like, etc. Do it with the truck sitting on the ground and than lift it by the frame. Some things that appear tight on the ground are really loose when its in the air. To check the wheel bearing, lift it off the ground and grab the tires at 12 and 6 and rock back and forth.

are your torsion bars cranked up at all? having any sever angle on the torsion bars and big tires and a heavy foot you will feel your truck start being wobbly under hard acceleration because the tires will fight each other and since they torsion bars are cranked up they push in and up. That gives you a bouncing and wobbling and it will be worse when steering components are worn or loose.
You can check to see if the wheel bearings are bad they can cause problems too with 4wd launching, jack u your tire and grab it on the top ad bottom and try to rotate it along the x-axis or up and down. if there is any play then the bearing is bad and will need to be replaced. check for slack in the pitman and idler arms also. |
