Help with EFI Live
how out there can give some good pointers on using efi live. basic proigramming to get us started and thing that have been learned along the way. right now any info is good info. we will start with a 2002 ppe hot +2 and dual cp3 pumps please help

Here check this out...

i did some calculations the other day on how many degrees the crank rotates every uS
basically what i came up with at... 1000rpm the piston moves .006*/uS 1500rpm the piston moves .009*/uS 2000rpm the piston moves .012*/uS 2500rpm the piston moves .015*/uS 3000rpm the piston moves .018*/uS 3200rpm the piston moves .0192*/uS (i think thats correct) it helps alot out with picking your timing based on how much of a pulse width your are running and it really tells you how many degrees your injectors are open before before even doing a log. logging it can telll you how any crank angle degrees the injectors are open for too based on your pulse width an rpm. the way ive been shown to tune is basicaly tune to where your rail pressure can stay up high, if your rp drops too much your either demanding too much or there is something mechanicly wrong with the fuel system. |
danny are those backwards?? Shouldn't it less time at higher rpm's?
|
wait i got it backwards lol lemme fix it, i just got home from the bar when i posted that.
if your running a 3000uS pw at 2000 rpm it stays open for (3000uS)*(.012*/uS) = 36* the ammount of degrees the injector is open. the same pulsewidth at 3000rpm (3000uS)*(.018*/uS) = 54* So the injector will stay open or 54 crank angle degrees at 3000rpm with a 3000uS puleswidth |
/me fixed post #3

yup. the only problem is what is the best timing to use. with a 3000uS pw your still :edit: either way thats tons of fuel spraying ontop of the pistons, theres still pilot injection and main injection and pressure to still figure out.
|
pilot injection??? lol whats that? :humm: I've never even though about that :argh:
|
so where is the optimum crank angle degrees for the injection event to begin/end
|
im still playing around with that, i really don't think there is one definitive answer to that question. there are way too many variables to have THE answer. Temperature, altitude, pressure, compression, cylinder pressure, fuel, and the list goes on.
|
finally when I thought I understood EFI a little bit i see this thread haha. Wow having trouble understanding that. I run about 30* timing with 2600 pulse width I think at higher RPMs in my race tune.
|
my thought is that you would want the injection event to begin as soon as possible without causing a detonation and to end as close to TDC as possible to insure the most even spread of fuel throughout the cylinder?!?!
