Tire/speedometer change

If I change the tire size in the edge attitude, does that change it for the truck or just on the attitude? Thinking of going up to 265's.

Yes, it will change it on the trucks speedo.. :U:

Cool, thanks!!

Ok now new question, what diameter are 265's? I thought the attitude would just have tire size but instead it's asking for diameter.

i think its like a 31" tire, but it depends on the series(265 - __R__) there is a calculator on here that will tell you

The best thing to do is to use a tape measure while they are mounted on the truck.. Sitting on level ground, measure them.. that .25" difference can throw your speedo off. :U:

The Edge does not change the speedo. It only changes the display on the Edge.

Actually, the correct way is to measure the distance (in inches) it takes for the tire to make one revolution, then divide that by Pi ( 3.14159265358979323846 or 3.1415 for short ) :5:

Don't worry. With the stock 245's the dash programming is usually off by 2mph, swapping to 265's actually will bring the speed-o to almost perfect speed. :choochoo:

My experience is the opposite, I got pulled over on the interstate once in a buddies 03 duramax with 265's. I didn't know he had different tires and I had the cruise set at 80, cop had me at 86. Friendly cop though, he was the one that brought up the tires and let me go with a warning.

Oh by the way, the Edge wants circumference not diameter, my mistake. I haven't gotten around to measuring it yet.
