Warranty question for you guys

well i got a 2007 LBZ and looking into getting exhaust (dual 4", turbo back). would that void warranty?? bc i really cant afford losing it.

It cannot void any part of the warranty that is not related to the mod. I would not think 2 times about adding an exhaust. It will be fine, I have had exhaust on 2 of my 3 Duramax trucks and never had a word mentioned. This truck I do not have a full exhaust put on but I did replace the fence post looking tip.

yeah i'm good friends with the service manager at the dealership i go to and he said that the parts you replace is what goes out of warrenty. but when i got my last truck(07 chevy 1500) straight piped they could only do so much or else it would void the exhaust warrenty. so if you do get a new exhaust if something were to happen to it the dealership wont fix anything with your exhaust.

but lets say you got something like new injectors or a turbo or something like that and you ended up having a problem. the dealership could say that whatever you got aftermarket is what cause the problem and nto fix it. if i were you i would ask the service manager at wherever you bought your truck before you did anything big. but you should be fine with just gettting an exhaust system.

I would just do a cat back now or at least save the cat to install latter. If you can't afford to lose the warranty you can't afford to fight GM over it. Talking the the service manager would be a good idea, but most likely he just say in depends or some BS answer. If the regional rep is there anything the manager said is out the window.

Being an amsoil dealer on occasion I deal with questions regarding warraties. I'll attach a link where you can edumucate yourself with the Moss Magnuson act.

As with all legalese it's open to enterpretation :argh:

At the Chevy dealer i work for you can mod your truck but w/e mod you do voids that warrenty on that part and if we detirmine that the part caused the truck to break then the warrenty goes.
