dang that sucks, crazy that it was just in a roll on didn't shift guess I could only get away running that kinda power so long

Rttoys 11-09-2008 08:45 AM

When you are doing that, use Tow/Haul. It helps pervent some limps. Some that is.

2??? I sure hope my first one lasts! :ohno:
Is a SC stage VI what you guys would recommend, how about whats a stage III good to hp wise? or how about the ATS kits?

Oilfield_Mafia 11-09-2008 04:03 PM

I think the SC IV is good for like 600 or so.. Larry will definately know more:U:

WyoD-MAX 11-09-2008 06:10 PM

ATS has been having some problems with tranny's and i know a couple guys that had the torque converter problem and ats wouldn't warranty it just be careful i would do some reearch... with ats that is i have herd lots of good things about suncoast...

uwyo_dmax 11-09-2008 06:20 PM

Thanks Ill do that. I've kinda heard a little about that too, I just thought i'd see what people had to say about

LarryJewell 11-09-2008 09:06 PM

your best bet is to contact Mike L. with Inglewood Transmissions and tell himn what you plan on doing with the truck:U:

I have had problems with Mike returning calls or even PM's on other forums. I am sure that some of our vendors here can get the stage IV also.

uwyo_dmax 11-09-2008 11:59 PM

Ive had the same problem i tried to get a hold of him a while back .

Oilfield_Mafia 11-10-2008 12:32 AM

Mike answeres every email and phone call from me.. So I dunno..

jpowel29 11-10-2008 12:43 PM

Wait until you shell out big $$$ for a fully built transmission and it fails too...just because it is a stage IV doesn't mean you can't slip those as well. At least most builders offer a solid warranty - mine stood behind his 110%.

uwyo_dmax 11-10-2008 03:09 PM

Well i plan on doing building my own I think to save a little money. I know a guy who works at the chevy dealer in cheyenne who built his and will help with mine. i would hope a stage VI would hold up to 500-550 hp though.

DieselPower_JP 11-10-2008 10:22 PM

Talk to Mike L. He has answered every pm and phone call from me. He spent 2 hours just talking to me about trucks and his busineess and the friends hes made along the way. Hes a great guy and when it comes time to rebuild my trans ill be lookin to him

2500HeavyDuty 11-10-2008 11:42 PM

mike loves to talk

uwyo_dmax 11-11-2008 12:41 AM

I'm sure thats who i'll go with what do you guys think about doing it myself though anybody here done it themselves?

LarryJewell 11-11-2008 06:05 AM

if your comfortable in doing it yourself, I say go for it. I let Mike L. build my last one, I'm more comfortable with that decision.:ok1:

uwyo_dmax 11-11-2008 10:12 PM

Well it looks like its going to be a stage VI..........anybody interested in a 04 CRF450 haha :U:
