CP3 "Overflow Valve"

Someone told me I needed to upgrade my "overflow valve"?

Does the CP3 have an "overflow valve" or is this person talking about the FPRV?

yes u can do a bottle test to see if u need to shim the fprv.

Jdugie or tracey can provide u with more info on it, i dont have this problem with my motor :)

thats a lly/lbz thing too

i think lmm also

ya they are most likely talking about the FPRV i just did a race valve some say not to do that but i haven't had any problems and i don't have to worry limping because of a 1093. you could do a shim kit if you haven't blown the valve to much

You use the bottle test to determine if you need shivs or not and how many right?

the race valve just cuts the return fuel line off completely don't it?

no the bottle test only works on the LBZ engines the LLY will just thru a 1093 if the problem is not enough fuel but it can be solved three ways get a lift pump, shim the valve or do a race valve like i did

:ok:

well i got more problems than that, my injection system is 8 years old on a first try CR

i have a few worn parts. works perfect stock. but for the tuning i got it gives me large fuel system leak, i just tune it off with efi untill i get it fixed.

jdugie123 07-16-2008 12:12 PM

you may want to try and get in contact with Oddone he was able to get a lbz CP3 on his LB7 i have the tune we had to use to make it idle right but Guy side every truck may be different

DangerousDuramax 07-16-2008 12:53 PM

Dont forgot that when you install an LBZ CP3 on a non-LBZ you have to change the voltage in your tune to allow the CP3 run and idle properly.

jdugie123 07-16-2008 03:19 PM

ya that is what we had to do

2500HeavyDuty 07-16-2008 06:10 PM

yeah its the opposite, at idle it would be like 23kpsi and WOT itl be like 5kpsi
kinda crazy.

I seen a few lbz cp3's for same for pretty cheap out in the marketplace. U gotta re bend a hard line to get it to fit IIRC
