01 Duramax LB7 Head Gasket?

Hey guys, I am brand new to diesel forums. Figured i'd get some opinions on my situations, it seems like there's actually alot of info on HG's and the symptoms.

My GMC is holding a ton of pressure within the coolant reservoir. I have used process of elimination and I believe due to a almost rock hard upper rad hose, & loss of coolant at the overflow hole I believe my issue is either a cracked HG or cracked injector sleeve. There is no white smoke, and after a compression leak test on the rad fuel was not mixed in with the coolant, if it was it means a definite HG however the tremendous pressure is proving to mean its probably just a minor but nonetheless bad HG.

It really stinks these things are so expensive, about 25-35 hours at a shop translates into about $3k-$4k for the job. The gasket kits alone are only around $300-$600 its just the head work and getting to them which takes time.

I am considering selling the truck as-is, maybe for around $5000. Do you guys have any input/advice on what choice I should make? I travel for work, and will not need the truck or be at my house for 6 months straight. Thanks in advance guys
