Power Steering Hose
 

Im in the process of replacing my steering gear box, and noticed that one of my high pressure hoses has a hole ripped into it, and ive been looking for a replacement online and havent been able to find one.

Its the hose that goes from the PS Pump to the Gearbox.



Heres 3 pics: the first pic is of the line that has a hole in it (closest to you), you can see it at the 90 bend where it is messed up.

second pic is the hose and where it goes to.

Third pic is how it connects to the power steering pump with a hose and clamp.

so any advice on where i can get this part?

Unfortunately Danny that is going to be a dealer only part. I'm amazed that you have a hole in that line and would certainly have the entire system checked out. That is not a high pressure line and that hole was caused by something external.

You wouldnt happen to know a part # or do i have to drive up to the dealer one day.

Well i know now what has been causing my ridiculous power steering leak for the past week, it just got real bad all of a sudden. and that seems to be the problem, before if was a trickle out of my gearbox...

Well i found it, it is the power steering return hose,

That's a return hose. Normally, you use 'bulk hose', cut to fit.

Yeah, any line that uses a hose clamp is not a high pressure line so you can just use some hose to fix the problem.

:humm: this is going to be an interesting fix...

i went and took the hose out, and got a better pics of it,

Cant slip a hose over it and clamp it off. trying to think of methods to patch it up, but im thinking way too much, theres probably something real simple for this fix.

I would cut the bad section out with a tubing cutter and then use some hose and clamps. Run a small bead of silicone on the tubing and slide the hose on.

i need some hose now, and i dont feel like riding my :bike: to the store either.

ima take a look around the garage and see what i can dig up:hammer:
