question about 2 generations of duramax with same tuner
 

Ok i have an 02 lb7 with the edge evolution tuner and when i floor it she will throw a little smoke then a light haze the rest of the way but a friend of mine has an 07 lbz with the same tuner and mods....like identical minus the years. But when he floors it he bellows out the black smoke and constantly bellows it. What is the difference? I mean obviously more horsepowerand torque stock but shouldnt his do the same as mine? Just slightly confused. We are running the same power level too FYI

Those two trucks are way different. Different tuning different turbos trans. A lot of differences. Don't expect them to act the same.

most likely it is the variable vain turbo on the LBZ is limiting boost while the LB7 is only limited by the waistgate
