Broken Crankshaft

Over on Dieselplace, there's someone who broke his crank with a 80hp tune. Any thoughts? I thought our Duramax's were a lot tougher than that. It was a low mileage LMM.:scare2:

thats just bad luck or abuse because that is something that you dont here much about on here especially with an 80 hp tune :humm:

yup, probably was a quaity control issue on the parts.

was it just a broken crank or did it spin the bearings also?

yeah most likely a factory flaw an 80hp tune could never do that on its own

Yep. Probably a Monday batch of cranks. Seems to happen on high horse trucks and stockers. I know about this problem and I spend all my time in the Ford sections!
