LMM & PPE Hot+2 Questions

I just ordered a PPE Hot+2 Programmer and 5'' turbo exhaust for my 2009 GMC. Are the PPE drivers out there satisfied with the product? What is the highest level setting my strock tranny can handle? How is the MPG?:humm:

Good morning. I just signed up here and haven't even introduced myself yet. First, I will try and answer some questions for you. I run a 2008 LMM with the PPE Standard Race tuner on level 3 all the time. I have had no issues with this tuner, but there are some things you should do first to keep everything running smooth. If you haven't, look on PPE's website and take a look at the PPE airbox mod for the LMM. It's easy with common hand tools, and opens things up for air intake. I run a K&N filter as well. I'm not saying that a full cold air intake is bad at all, but some LMM owners have tripped codes because the air intake can throw off a sensor. The LMM breathes really well as it is, but the PPE Mod and a K&N is a cheap way of freeing up some air to go in with that extra fuel. Also, the PPE tuners tend to run up the EGT's as well. So until you have an EGT gauge installed, maybe keep the tune low. You want to keep the EGT's under 1350 degrees if possible, thought a few hard pulls with mine have seen 1500 on level 3. Even the stock 6 speed Allison is pretty tough. A deeper pan from PPE or Mag-Hytec, and a Trans-Go Jr. shift kit will help out quite a bit. You normally want to keep a totally stock Allison at no more than 120hp over stock at the flywheel. PPE tuners are all rated at the flywheel. But anyone on here will tell you that the way you drive will determine the life of your power and drive train. Once I did the airbox mod, the tuner, and the full turbo back 4" exhaust, I noticed a 3 mpg jump overall. I have seen as high as 24 mpg on the highway at 60mph(the speed limit in most of Canada). All these changes to your truck are up to you, but taking caution with your truck in the form of EGT, Boost, and fuel rail pressure gauges, more tranny oil capacity, a shift kit, good fluids all around, and good driving habits will go a long way.

IM running the PPE HOT +2 on tune 6 with a stock trany, however at tune 4 the truck was craving more fule in the 50-60mph range. So i threw in an Airdog 150gph pump and no problems since then:tu:
