well if it didnt damage too much and it wasnt gonna be outrageously expensive to fix then why didnt the owner keep it and get it fixed??? thats the big question. even if the engine is shot it would be well worth 1500 bucks just for a rolling chassis wo the engine.

Its a company truck I guess they figured with it being 4 years old they would just move on. most likely I am still going to look at it but will probably pass on it. Not because its not worth what they are asking but I have about ten projects going on now and don't need another huge undertaking. I was just wanting to know where all it could get oil to the combustion chamber. I know it can get it from a busted piston or ring, head or head gasket. But can it get it from around the injector on a lbz like on a lb7 and will a bad cp3 allow oil to get to the combustion side of things.

Putting a Cummins in it stand about a snow balls chance in a real hot place of happening. Not because I don't think the Cummins is a good engine but its not good enough for me to remove a Duramax for it and they sell Dodges with Cummins diesels already installed in them.

Hell, you can find used running motors on ebay for around 5 grand.I say buy the truck.

I defiantly think it is worth the money my problem is still the time. I haven't even had a chance to look at the truck. I can give you the info on it if I ever get 10 minutes off work to look at it and decide whether or not to buy it.

Are ya'll on crack??? You could part the truck out for several 1000 $$$. Heck and engine builder would probably give you a few 100 just for it.

well if you find the time to look it over and you think you don't want it pm me. I have to say it sounds like your lucky your working in this, not haveing time is a good thing.

2008 F350 6.4 on gas......

Customer called 3 months ago, broke down on side of the road. Said "truck started smoking like crazy and couldnt hold highway speed, until it finally slowed down and shut off". Asked how long since he had gotten fuel? "Oh, about 7-10 miles ago." I said, "was it a BP station?" Customer: "Yep, how did you know." I asked, " you made sure to use the GREEN handle, right? Customer, " yes, diesel is always GREEN handle." I said, "well, NOT AT BP stations, diesel is yellow." Phone got real quiet. Had to ask if he was still there. "Yes, I am here, your shittin me right?" Nope, got your receipt? "Yep, 32 gallons of GAS, F*** ME." Dropped tank, cleaned and flushed tank, lines, rails and changed fuel filters along with oil and filter, and changed the vertical EGR cooler cuz it cracked. He has about 12000 miles since then and all seems fine SO FAR. I think he got lucky. So just cuz they ran gas, it may be able to be saved.:scare2:

Where is it @ I'll take it. This happens all the time the worst I have seen happen is broken pump. Take the tank down and clean it out.

pretty sure this truck is gone by now, its over a year old lol, and on a commonrail system like the duramax has the injectors and pump will not be happy with running gasoline in it. plus that much gas in it can and will cause internal engine damage eventually.
