blue smoke at idle in drive?
since i have straightpiped my truck i have been getting some puffs of blue smoke at idle after being runned, i put a new fuel filter on thinking it may help but im still getting the smoke its not constant or all the time and its not a massive amount but its noticeable please help!!:argh:

blue smoke would tell me its burning some oil

what fuel filter brand did you use? mine did the same thing. changed the fuel pressure regulator and still did it. pulled the crappy wix fuel filter off and put a a/c delco on and it hasn't smoked since. blue smoke at idle isn't always oil. could be a injector stuck open.

Wix fuel filters don't filter to the correct microns for the duramax causing contaminates getting in the injectors.. Which is exactly what happened to my truck causing really bad diesel smell and blue smoke at idle in gear w a miss fire. Switched to the ac delco and hasn't acted up once with 1500 miles on the change.. :c:
