Transmission Problem

I have a 2005 duramax with an allison transmission at take off or after letting off of the throttle and reapplying the throtlle I have alittle play in the transmission. Does anyone have any suggestions what it might be or know a good transmission shop for allisons in the Winchester, VA area or around there.

how many miles are on the truck, how is the fluid level and when was the last time you swapped the filters

red dually 09-19-2011 08:56 PM

The truck has around 84,000 and the fluid level is good but it has ben awhile since I changed the filter.

I change the filter with every oil change

Sounds like you might have some shift flare or a sloppy tq converter

there is also an internal filter, sometimes it can wiggle around causing a small vacum leak on accel and decel

Brite White Ram is there a way to tell for sure that is is the tq converter and if it is the converter what is the best way to fix it replace it?

a good scan tool can can do that for you. some one with a tech 2, snapon scan tool , or efi live.

i mean to measure tcc slip to see if the torque convertor is your problem. but i doubt it
