ok dumb question

k so i am looking to get tires... what is the max size i can get on stock rims? and any suggestions im leaning tward some bfg all terrains... but wasnt sure hopeing to be able to get 33's or 35's on with full turning motion... is that possible?.

stock wheels an ride height 285/75/16 is tge biggest most people go.

i run 315/70/17's on H2 wheels, but i also hacked my fenders so i can tuck them lowered

You can fit 35's with some surgery, but I'd stay away from the BFG's. They wear out quickly.

Heavy Duty is right you can tuck 285's fine trim for 35's. BFG I think make good tires. I had a set of All terrains last 85,000 and my Mud KM2's I have now are wearing good with 45,000 on them still have I'd say easy 75% tread. Just make sure to rotate and they will last.

I have ran 285's and 31x12:50 there both really close but if you crank your tortion bars up you can fit 33's
They will rub the frame and the finderwell but not bad enough to worry about . As far as tire brand goes big are ok if your on flat terrain. Up here im the mountains there just to soft and don't last. Ive had them all best yet for me are cooper sst or just cooper st both run superb in snow and mud.

Well on the 33's as far as a little rub is concerned it depends on the offset too of the rim mine I didn't crank up the torsion bars and they fit just fine only rub in reverse when crank the wheel over all the way very light rub. Avoid cranking on the torsion bars if can asking for future problems in doing so get some keys if wanting little more clearance.

cranking does the same thing that keys do

zbructo 10-14-2011 06:46 PM

My bad actually yes if decide to crank the torsion bars try not to max out to avoid a bad alignment and suspension problems.

my 1/2 ton has 33x12.5 on 15's and they fit fine but my keys are turned up a bit and I lifted the rear about 1.5 inch to level it out with a small load. but different gen trucks tho.
