How should I ask for my pickup?

This is what I have, what would be a fair price?

2004.5 Chevy 3500 2wd dually Cab and Chassis, Duramax Diesel with Allison auto
162,000 miles
bad rear end (have a good one for the right price)
does not start but turns over and has good compression and fuel pressure. Diagnosed problem by dealer, Needs computer, not actuating injectors

insane3639 01-03-2010 07:35 PM

here is what i would do go to nada.org figure what it would be if running then figure a couple grand drop for rear end and new comp at least that is what i would say to you if i was buying it.

Actually id say fix the computer to get it running then we will talk but im not buying so....:w2:

BriteWhiteRam 01-04-2010 08:00 PM

$19,000?:humm:

Not trying to be rude or anything but, I do not think i would say $19000. You could almost buy one running for that much I bought mine for a little more than that running excellent but mine is a ford i would shoot towards something like $16000 or have him fix the computer then do $19000. Just my two cents on what I would do.

puddlestomper 01-05-2010 07:53 PM

I posted it in the for sale along with the NADA quote of $11,000. $7500 or best offer, VERY open to negotiation. I don't have the money to fix it. So I am looking to sell or trade. I wouldn't be surprised to see it go for less than half that. Just trying to get rid of them. An engine only deal down here is going for $850 and needs rebuilt.

BriteWhiteRam 01-05-2010 09:09 PM

but your engine isnt in need of rebuild is it? just needs an ECM, a new ECM could be had for under $1000, infact i know of a fellow that sells ECM's that are tuned for about $700

that $7500 is a steal for that truck its an LLY with the VGT

puddlestomper 01-05-2010 09:52 PM

And the dealer says the engine is good, just needs a computer. Yeah, I just don't have the money. I got two of these, so I am trying to get a little cash to work on the other one. Heck, I would even give one away to someone who would get one running.

Ya man enough?!?!:tttt:

2500HeavyDuty 01-06-2010 03:49 PM

hell ive done fixed everything you can possibly do on mine without pulling the motor, whats wrong with it

puddlestomper 01-06-2010 04:03 PM

It cranks and won't start. Dealer says it needs a computer. My EFI Live says there is fuel pressure, 185 cranking RPM, and readings from what sensors I can figure out. Just got the program, haven't been able to use it on a running vehicle yet. Thought about downloading a tune and reflashing it. Has fuel, all the basic stuff. Checked the connections I could find. Don't know now. I had thought about taking the computer out of the other one, but the dealer said it has the same problem. The VIN's are only 12 apart. Haven't hooked EFI up to it yet. Missing a couple of parts.

well u probably will have to get ahold of a new ecm somewhere. cranking pressure should be about 50mpa i think :humm:

you can try re-flashing it i have a few stock lly tunes on my computer. Theres so many lttle things tan be checked, but i dunno if you want to put the time and effort into it.

i noticed that its not actuating injectors, did they say what computer u need an ECM or FICM?

puddlestomper 01-06-2010 07:51 PM

They didn't say. I really think they didn't know either. The mechanic that told me wasn't a diesel mechanic, and I was having to correct him on how this was not a 6.5 mechanical.

I have nothing but time, and really want to learn this EFI Live stuff. All I have been able to find on it is advice from gassers, and they can't tell me a lot about how the Duramax tables are supposed to read. I would really like to know how to tell what a bad ECM reads like.

2500HeavyDuty 01-07-2010 01:05 AM

well hook up ur efi live and open up the tune tool and download the tune thats in the ecm for first. its the green arrow

puddlestomper 01-07-2010 06:42 AM

Ok. try to get that done today or tomorrow.

2500HeavyDuty 01-07-2010 06:50 AM
