LBZ Mouthpiece

Ok so i know from reading several threads about this that the LLY Mouthpiece sucks some major co** :tttt: So where exactly can i get one and what will it run me on cost. Also which is better, the LBZ Mouthpiece or the AFE Bladerunner?

probably from a junk yard, the lbz mouthpiece on a lly isnt a direct swap but it can easily be fitted with the right pieces of intake tubing.

heres a good site to find all the pieces you need to swap a lbz piece onto it. Intake Hoses, IntakeTubing, and Intake Clamps

the afe plade runner claims to alot more efficient than the lbz mouthpiece swap, jlawles has one on his truck iirc

Well i'm not to worried about the intake tubing cause i have a cold air intake which when i bought it i didn't know about the different duramax motors so it's actually for a LBZ and i jsut kinda made it work on my truck. So what would you recommend? LBZ or AFE.

the afe one is over 300 dollars MSRP

the lbz can be found for alot cheaper, or a kodiak lly one works too but ir depends on what you want to spend.

Definitely don't wanna spend that kinda money. The junk yard thing kinda crossed my mind today as i passed one but then i was thinkin what are the chances that a truck that new is still gonna be in a junk yard. I guess it's worth trying. I know that they only cost like 80 or 90 dollars new off the gm parts website.

gmpartsdirect is usually the best source.

Yeah that's what site i was lookin on. I still think i should take a look at a couple of the local junk yards first though. Surely there's one layin around somewhere that's in half way decent shape. Other than the intake not fitting is it a direct bolt on part?

The blade runner is a direct bolt on, no cutting or reducers required. I did the aFe as I did not want to take the time to cut the intake tubing. The hardest part was getting the 2 plugs from the hardware store to do the pcv reroute and resonator block.

Yeah i don't have to worry about the intake tubing. I bought a Cold air intake a while back and it was actually made for a lbz and i somehow managed to make it fit.

No, It is not a swap out. There is some work involved to machine off interferences and you have to find a coupling that is the right size, etc. There is a kit you can get that is a designed fit. Induction Overhaul Kit that has everything you need, in the right materials. It is more expensive also but everyone loves it for how much better the truck runs.
