LIMP MODE!!!

my truck keeps goin in to limp mode from what i hear... she says its running right and it is 20+ degrees out... but i had her dump diesel 911 in it and it cleared up for awhile but it still keeps goin into limp mode??? all i can think is the fuel filter... but its hard to tell without looking at the truck... IM HOPING AND PRAYING ITS NOT THE INJECTORS!!!!!! :madd:

Red_Rattler 02-23-2009 06:48 PM

Ahhhh ummm take the truck back....... Your sure shes not hammering on it? :humm:

DIRTYMAX2004 02-23-2009 07:27 PM

she swears up and down she babies it... i turned the chip off and she says she dont know how to turn it on but...:humm:

It's not the injectors, :humm: well does it feel like it's running on half the engine?? Sound like a powerstroke?? could be the # 2 or 7 injector connector.

Check engine light?? Fuel filter will cure most problems, but it could be a connector......:humm: wait a minute, arn't you the one being used?? :ph: Your truck just needs a MAN to drive it, not a wuuuuuusssssspppuuuuuusssss......... :w2: :tttt:

DIRTYMAX2004 02-23-2009 08:14 PM

idk what it sounds like she said it sounds :":normal:": :ouch: and i did have the :":powerstroke:": issue already and i put in a brand new injector harrness... (made me sick to my stomach hearing my truck sound like a powerstroke :tttt:)

i told her to limp it back home so im praying that its nothing major :humm:

Easy first, put a fuel filter on it and see what happens.

I had the same problem with my 2004.5 Duramax. Mine was the wiring harness going to the injectors. It has happened twice now. Its a poor design because the wires get hot and then fail. Just my two cents!!

was it the #5 and 7 injector wire harness?

C5500 with same issue

Just had a GMC C5500 here in the shop with same issue. Owner had changed filters numerous times. Claimed it fixed the problem each time. Finally brought it in to us and I found it had set codes P0202 and P2149. GM has a bulletin (06-05-04-47C) out on this issue. Injector harness is not properly supported at #2 and #7. Use kit number 98017958 to repair injector wire ends on cylinders #2 and #7. Kit also has two support brackets that gets installed to support the harness at #2 and #7.:tu:
