Oil Pressure?

whats the normal operatring oil presure for my dually? Is there a diffrence in pressure between gas and diesel engines? I only ask becasue it really fluccuates(sp) alot. Normal driving is right around 20 and when I get up on it it jumps up to about 60 when im idiling its at around 10 or so. Is this normal?

My 6.0 2500HD has always been a constant 60 from the day I bought it and ive always assumed this was normal.

Thanks in advance!!

im not real sure with the DMAX's but that seems kinda low, i wouldnt think it should drop down to ten. What weight oil are you running.:humm:

yes that is normal for the dmax it doesn't really need much oil pressure it is a little hard to get use to but it is normal every dmax i have been in has been that way

i dont know about Dmaxs but everytime im in the ford work tractor the oil pressure goes up as the throttle increases. i aways assumed that as the engine worked harder the more oil it needed

Yep, it's normal for LLY and up. Right now I'm towing 14000#, doing 65mph, 1800rpm and showing 40psi. High volume/low pessure.

As for oil: Delco PF2232 oil filter and regular Delo400 for me, others will say what they like, I'm sure.
