Water in fuel?
05 LLY 2500 crew cab with 180,000+ miles, EGR Delete, S&G cold air intake, 6" fabtec lift with 35-12.50-17.
I had an issue with loosing prime so I rebuilt the fuel filter housing and it didn't fix my issue. I then replace the water fuel sensor plug that screws into the bottom of the filter and Walla losing prime issue resolved only now my instrument panel is telling me I have water in my fuel. She runs great there isn't any lose of power or hesitation. How can I get that message of my display?

We have an 05 duramax 3500. Maybe around 2008 on the tow home from Az the water in fuel popped up. many times since because we don't drive the truck for 6 months and going south same story. After many times during maintenance at the chev shop it was decided the computer is at fault. Uh hooking the water sensor didn't make a difference either. The fuel has been tested many times by me and the chev tech added this when he said it was the computer, (no water in the fuel) A new computer would be installed but It isn't that important.
I change the fuel filter each summer plus have changed the water sensor once before it was determined the computer was the issue. I have no answer for your problem. 99000 miles on our awesome towing truck and still seems it is new.
