Sump VS. 5/8 Suction tube

Ok, so im upgrading my fuel system next. I want to run 5/8 fuel line to my lift pump and was wondering if it would be better to install a sump on the tank or 5/8 suction line. Both are bout the same price for the LB7 because of the $60+ stupid bulkhead fitting on the pickup assembly. I hear talk of 1/4 tank problems with the suction tube, but was wondering bout clearance/ slosh issues with the sump? Also wondering about which lift pump to use. I have an 01 2500hd with 5" straights, aftermarket down pipe( full open "mouth" off the turbo) cold air and bully dog gt tuner. I also just purchased ATS boost fooler to install since i just found out the GT doesnt prevent the stock boost defuel. In the future would like to instal BD drivers side exhaust manifold. I have all stock fuel system, thinking bout porting to .125" rail fittings and shimming the FPRV and running 5/8 line all the way to the CP3. Truck only smokes a little bit when i romp on it in the extreme tune(which i only done once since i still have stock tranny) so i know i need more fuel before i start working on air(PPE boost valve, ported intake horn. Any ideas/input/opinions and anything else but whinning are trully appreciated!

is that all the mods u have?
on my buddies lly we set it up to draw his fuel from the stock pickup.
he has an airdog 165 on there and he has no quarter tank issue and no loss of positive pressure.
it is also a 12 second truck

I heard on the lly lbz and lmm that the 1/4 tank issue isn't as much of a problem as it is on the lb7 since the stock pickup on the lb7 is "necked" down and has a harsh 90deg bend right at the connection.

Eventualy I will be adding new injectors dual cp3 and aftermarket turbo(or two) so my philosophy is making sure what I install now can still be used with my future mods. Another ? I have is what lift pump should I get and which should I stay away from? I'm leanin towards PPE but I hear bad things and am told get the raptor and also hear bad things. And IMO the extra filtration is nice on say the ad2 and fass but I can add filter housings and run HD filters for a lot less. I know they "remove air" from your fuel but if you have a + fuel psi in your lines after the pump then there shouldn't be any air not? My shop foreman and I had this discussion as well as a few others but it's nice to find people who might know things that others don't. That's how I learned, self taught by failures and word of mouth....

a 165gph or anything atleast that much flow will be enough for you. i would get the ppe fuel bowl mod, having something dangling on a daily driver is just asking for trouble.

really positive pressure is positive pressure.
