egr issues

Hey guys cool site. Newby here lookin for a little advise.
My 04, lb7 is at the stealership
for it's 2nd. set of injectors in less than 117,000 miles and they are saying it's showing the egr code. It's been smokin so bad for the last 4 monhts I got a ticket. (cali. deal) The injectors have been filling the crankcase and i've been changing the oil every 1000-1500 mi. to maintain oil quality until I could get this worked out and save enough money to fix it. The stealership is getting the inj. done under the special order and charging me $1000.00 plus tax. Additionally, they want $500.00 to replace the egr valve and say that they're discounting some of the labor costs because of overlap in the inj. replacement process. This seems a bit like b.s to me and I want to know what you guys think. The stealer rep. says it's covered in soot etc. (well gee shirlock, you think that might be because its blowin profuse amounts of diesel smoke for 4 mos.? haha) Does the price seem reasonable to for the repair or are they just trying to pimp me for $?

well i would say the price on injector replacement is fair on the egr i wouldnt know it depends on local labor costs and all but sounds fair to me over all hope this helps good luck
