Default Lb7 downpipe

I have an 02 duramax with a mbrp 4" turboback exhaust. Im thinking about adding a 3" turbo downpipe. Are the gains worth the 200 dollars? I had it chipped with a superchips but removed it and am thinking about finding somebody to efi live tune it, but want to do all my add ons first.

Thanks!

i have heard either way on it, im also on the fence. i would say it would definetly lower egts quite a bit, and make faster spool up. i think i will wait on mine till i swap out the turbo for a different one then worry about it then.

I see, so probably no mpg or hp increase? Also, I see you have the swiss cheese air box on your truck, did it help? I thought about a CAI but keep hearing its a waste of money. Are you running the stock filter or upgraded?

I wouldn't say that there is NO increase in hp or lowered EGT's but it wont be huge by any means

the stock turbo and intake/exhaust can make 500hp

Not worth 200 dollars IMO, but there gains in adding an exhaust. And tuning will help

might see a little hp increase mostly noticable on the dyno, the cutting of the airbox seemed to help some but not a lot, it was free so i figured why not . it has a k&n in it now but i just picked up a bills custom intake with an s&b filter from a buddy for cheap so i couldn't say no haha.

The down pipe is definitely worth it, You could see a drop of up to 200* on the pyro. There will be a little bit more of a deeper rumble. As far as a HP increase, there is very little if any at all.

Down pipe is definitely worth the money... You wont feel the difference that much but EGTs will go down quite a bit
