Duramax injector changing more questions

I have read the excellent dyi instructions. I have a few more questions. I have a 2002 Silverado with 87,000 miles. It started smoking a little, nothing terrible, but annoying. The truck runs and pulls great. The dealer said the #2 and # 8 injectors were down 5%. He insisted that all 8 be changed to the tune of $4000. Easy for him , difficult for me.

questions:

As I understand it #2 & #8 injectors are on the drivers side with #8 against the firewall, correct?

How reliable are these dealer tests on the injectors?
Could I change these two, or just the 4 on the drivers side?

When you buy the gasket kit are all the gaskets and glue in it or do you need more?

The o rings mentioned in the dyi for the injectors, do they come on the new injectors, or is that something else I need to order?

Are there any special instructions for the driver side, since the dyi only covers the passenger side?

I'm most concerned with breaking loose the valve covers. I don't have a floor jack like in the pictures. Has anyone not been able to break them loose or bend them?

I read about "larger injectors" can someone provide more info on these and if they are more reliable?

Thanks. I thought I had a lifetime truck, now I'm not sure.

you dont need a floor jack to get the valve covers off, yo can use a pry bar like this one http://thumbs2.ebaystatic.com/m/m8l_...4LE3Bg/140.jpg

there is two tabs to pry against on the top of the valve cover and use the fuel rail to use as your fulrum.

your correct on the injector locations.

no difference on the pass vs driver side, its kinda pointless to cover the same procedure twice, and if you can get the stuff off the valve cover you really shouldnt be doing the job anyway.

the gasket kit comes with a new valve cover seal and i think return line seals.

the orings for the injector some with the injector, however the orange ones you will need seperate, but thats a rare occasion that you pull a sleeve out.
