hard starting @ about 10 above and lower
 

Hi Guys, I noticed with my 02 lb7 that it starts hard at about 10 above if it sits all night, last year it started good all the time down to -10 below. It just turnes over and over and over. If I park the truck in the garage at night it is about 20 degrees in there it starts right up. I even put the light weight oil in it this year to see if it would help. When the truck starts it sounds like a old diesel tractor starting on only a couple cylinders then it revs up and smoothens right out. I am going to check balance rates this morning I just checked them a couple months ago and they were fine. I put a new wix fuel filter on it too, no check engine light is on eather... what do you guys think???? Thanks

balance rates are good on the injectors, I am thinking if is somthing with the glowplugs, any ideas where to start? no codes are showing, thanks

Try plugging it in at night and unplug it right before you start it up

Have your batteries checked one is probably weak.

Agreed, its probably a bad battery, if there were anything wrong with your glow plugs or intake heater there would have been a code

try to test the batteries, but if you have to replace one it is better to replace both at the same time

Batterys were tested, I found the problem the buss bar that goes to all the glow plugs was broke right after the first glowplug. Had no codes or nothing.
