Fuel in the oil
 

I just got the head gasket fixed, and now there's an oil leak. You can smell fuel through the exhaust bad.Noticed fuel in the oil when i checked it. I think this could be a injector problem correct me if I'm wrong. It's an 01 Duramax whinch should tell you right there is the problem I'm learning. Thinking of getting rid of truck now. Only has 70k on it. This is stupid to have all these problems already. If i put new injectors in truck and lift pump should that fix the injector issues these trucks have or am i still at big risk of return issues? :argh:

Get a diagnostic tool that can scan injector flow rates, if you have one injector rate that is wayyyyy different than the others, that will indicate your problem area, i would stop driving it if you've got fuel in the oil

Dont blame the truck, the injectors are notorious to go out on Lb7's, and if you accidentally bumped one or forced one, or didnt get it to seat properly etc... DONT GIVE UP!!! the duramax can be an awesome engine if you give it a chance:pca1:

Injector failure on LB7s is pretty much an inevitability... If it happened once, it will probably happen again, just the nature of the beast. If you are not satisfied with having to routinely change the injectors at whatever interval they seem to last for you, I would honestly ditch the truck.

That being said, 70,000mi is a short lifespan, they should last longer than that.
I doubt your lift pump is bad, just check the injector balance rates first if you can.

maybe leaking injector nut/line. you can pull glowplugs, if fluid(fuel) comes out injector nozzle leaking. if not cover has to be pulled to look at fuel connections. the connections get crud on them and don't get cleaned prior to reassembly, that being said i would pull apart leaking connection and clean/inspect prior to trying to retighten and damage fittings.

i would still check balance rates, thats going to tell you exactly which one or ones are your problem areas
