Winter Diesel vs Summer Diesel

does anyone notice a mileage difference when they switch between summer and winter diesel? i can usually get 380 milis out of a tank in the summer time but when winter comes around i can only get about 320. i am wondering if mabye i have a bad/plugged injector it doesnt smoke but it doesnt seem like it has all the power it should. i just changed the fuel filter a month ago but it was badly plugged and i wonder if something got by it and into my injector. :humm:

we have talked about this before on here and theres people who have talked about losing 1 or 2 miles per gallon because of the winter blend :humm:

Yeah I always lose some mileage in the winter. Very common, happens to everyone. Nothing to worry about:tu:Winter is over and Spring is here:c:

Winter fuel sucks for mileage. Around here, winter fuel is a blend of regular #2 and #1 fuel for artic use. Unfortunatly, it's not just the fuel causing the mileage drop. The oil in the crank case, differentials, trans and t-case is thicker due to the cold, and it takes that much more power to turn those parts. Also the tires will lose pressure when the temps drop. These all work together to increase your trips to the fuel station during the winter months.
