Tires?????

hey guys. i am 99.9% sure i am getting an 02 2500HD duramax 6spd 4dr long box 4x4 and it needs tires but i dont have the money to upgrade right now. what would be a good set of tires for this truck. they would have to be a good set of all terain tires but they need to be somewhat aggressive.

This may be an unpopular answer but I personally try to find the Bridge stone Duelers, I use them on all of our 1 ton vans and we get between 30-45K this is alot of miles considering we are hauling around 55-110 gallons of water at all times. It is not bad when you can get a set for 250.00.

Other than that you cannot go wrong with the BFG A/T or Nitto Terra Grapplers

Check on Craigslist or Ebay 245x75x16

I run the bridgestone revo duelers on my dually. Not quite as cheap as aaron said, but the seem to be good tires.

Mine are 235's though

You have to buy them as take offs. New they are more of course.

I did not care for my Nitto's , they seemed to wear rather quickly.

Yeah they do wear pretty quick, I have had 2 sets. The first set lasted about 25K miles. The second set lasted longer because I rotated them every oil change.

i'll toss another vote in for the REVOs. one of the best "stock size" tires i've ever dealt with. i've put them on about 4 people's trucks now and haven't heard a single complaint. my FIL has about 25K on his set and they are wearing like iron.

I like my Pro Comp Xtreme AT's. They are quiet and perform well in dirt, rain, or dry pavement.

do i have to lift my 4x4 to put larger tires on it? cuz the stock rubber is kinda goofy lookin

... Yes, you will need to for clearance during full-range articulation
Look to BF Goodrich AT as a baseline tire
