Questions about the lb7 duramax!!!!!!!
 

I'm looking into buying a 01 lb7 duramax and i was wondering how many miles a lb7 duramax will normally last because i know that a cummins will last like 500,000 miles and i was wondering if a duramax will last that long? And i was also wondering if the allison tranny will handle very much more hp over stock hp? Because i'm thinking abount putting EFI on it. Thanks.

The Alli can take about 60hp over stock at the flywheel before it starts to croak.
I haven't seen many pickup trucks last 500,000 miles...At that point the engine is outlasting everything else on the truck... 300,000? Sure, I think you could reach that no problem. Just make sure it's been well maintained.

theres many over 200k and alot over 300k and yes there have been 500k dmaxes, if you take care of any motor it will last a lifetime

Yea long as u take care of the motor she'll b fine. as far as EFI live goes ur gonna need to build the tranny
