Bilstein 5100 Shocks

Hey there,

I am looking at the set of bilstein shocks front and rear. The front have a 2' lift and the back has 0' lift. Will the shocks alone really give my any kind of lift or no? By the way I can get the 4 shocks right now for $275 is that a good deal?

I was also looking at leaf springs to give myself a 2'lift in the back as well your thoughts.....

Has anyone else installed these shocks and how hard are they to install?

Just trying to get a little lift right now for the least amount of money since my shocks are shot anyways.

Thanks, Mandy

The shocks by themselves will provide no lift...You'd have to do an add-a-leaf or a block or something like that. A full replacement leaf pack could lift it also, but would be pricey. Add-a-leafs are probably the best bang for your buck for a cheap lift, but they raise your spring rate, so they will stiffen your ride a bit (but will haul more...)

$275 sounds like a fair deal... they are usually about $70- $75. Pretty easy to install too. Coulpe hours at most in the driveway to do all 4.

You may want to decide for sure if you are lifting the rear or not before you buy shocks... might be a different part number (longer shock) if you have lift.

Have fun!:U:
