Leaky Injectors.
I have a 2001 Duramax lb7 with bad injectors. I am thinking about replacing them myself with the help of a couple of other diesel mechanics that know something about diesels,, just not mine:argh:, is there anyone who has done this and can give me some insite to doing this. Thanks for any help.

this might help.
https://www.dieselbombers.com/lb7-bo...ips-hints.html give yourself about a whole day or the weekend to get this done if its your first time doing a job like this. some other tips i could add is use a 19mm crows foot to torque down the injector lines after installing, too tight and it could rupture the seal on the return lines under the valve covers. and be careful and make sure to NOT use a ball end bit on the injector return line banjo bolts it will strip and u will have to use channel locks to remove them. |
Any updates??

Having same problem, smokes at idle after engine is warm, took to dealer they ran diagnostic told me that 2 injectors were bad, but good ol GM is not warranting injectors that do not meet certain numeric factors from their diagnostic therefore they will not warranty mine, because they are still not bad enough by .3 of a point! also since it was not under warranty I got stuck with 100 dollar diagnostic tab!! beware
