I think you'll notice when your turbo goes boom :ouch:

2500HeavyDuty 07-16-2009 10:24 PM

makes drive pressure go up, it does hit higher boost but pressure ratio will be off and drive pressure will only get higher with tuning and turbo will go :cannon: eventually from over spinning

Yep. 40psi max. Stock turbo most efficient power at 28-30psi. Anything over 30 and your out of the compressor map.

So is this something not worth noticing the diffrences?
Should I unplug the Line?

any stock duramax turbo wont last very long at 40psi. the lb7 turbo falls off the map at 32psi and anything beyond that its very unefficient

There are several trucks out there running non wastegated turbos. It can be done. Its all in the tuning. You wont make any more power at 38 than 32. 32 is just a number you read. Each truck is different. Mine maxes at 30psi, as my tuning will prove it. Others max at 28, some at 33. Some stock turbos wont make more than 500-520hp. While others support 570-595hp. This has been proven.

i have had mine max out a 35+psi and 25psi, yes tuning has alot to do with how much boost can be made. 32 is the most u want.

and yes each truck is different because alot of the trucks people compare and read about online are at different elevations, locations and dynos. And dynos are just a tuning tool really, they all dont read the same.

show me a stock turbo lb7 truck that makes 595 hp and has the low 12 pass to prove it :pca1:

I have a 2001 duramax and i'm wanting to close the wastegate some. As of right now it sounds like it's wide open and when i get on it and it takes off it sounds just like a bunch of wind rushing by. I know i can build up plenty of boost because i run a Quadzilla Stealth 2 Race edition programmer on it at a 165 hp stage. It runs great and actually improves my fuel economy when i drive it right of course. Any suggestions on the wastegate? I would like for it to be a little quieter so i could actually hear my turbo. :w2:
