broke belt, bad balance try to switch front tires to back see if that helps
if not got to be another front end part :w2: |
u-joints. I have heard of some radial tires breaking belts in them when you haul a decent amount of weight the procomps seem to do that alot.

I had a vibration in my '01 2500HD. THe vibration started at 60mph. turned out to be the u-joints. One of the cups had NO bearings in it. It's a cheap fix.

is your drive shaft a one piece or two? I have the same problem, accompanied by a chirping sound, but after pulling the drive shaft this past weekend, found that all three u-joints are good, however the bearing support located at the end of the first drive shaft is bad - the rubber isolator is trashed. Anyone know if this is repairable or is it new drive shaft time?

im having this same issue. 1 piece alluminum drive shaft. both u joints good and front end all good. had a shop inspect it then do an allignment. Must be my tires.:humm:

go to a reputable tire shop and have them balance your tires:tu:

I had same problem with my 02. Replaced my u-joints them my carrier barring went out, put a new one of them on and had a vibration between 35-45 mph. Got sick of that bought a one piece alum. driveshaft installed and drives as smooth as it ever did. Also had to cut out carrier barring plate so driveshaft did not hit if under a load. Hope this helps.

my 01 was doing the same thing. ending up being my transfer case and broke my rear housing on my tranny also. it was right at 65 to 70 also

A vibration coming from the drive train like that most of the time ends up being your rear drive shaft U joints, or a carrier bearing... If you even have one which you probably don't in a ext cab short bed truck.
