replacing the t stats
Guys I hate to sound like a dumba$$ here but I don't want anything unexpected come up. How do you replace the thermostats on the engine. Do you just take off the long tstat housing and is there 2 tstats there in series or is it some other way. My truck only runs at about 170degrees at about 70degrees outside and on a long trip only gets to 180 the book says it should run 200degrees. So I think the tstat is stuck open.

Yep you got it. The housing is a one piece unit that houses both T stats.

the big old long steel tube and housing that got 4 bolts on it, you cn duscooect the rad hose and pull them 4 bolts and lay the tstat housing out the way

What temps are your guys truck running mine is only 170 on short runs. Does that sound low? Thanks

Not really for 70* if you had one stuck open it would take more then a short run to get it up to 170*.
