but i already got trouble startin it since it's around 12-20* some days... When the switch it flipped on it actually decreases performance. it acts like a valet switch. thats why some people mount it out of sight.

it doesent help out with starting, it just raises the idle speed to prevent washing the cylinders when idling a long time and i can be turned up to help warm up the truck faster when it cold.

works good in the summer to cool off the truck and also when jumping people with dead batteries.
i use it frequently, but its damn near impossible to have a conversation next to my truck with high idle on |
yeah thats all im really lookin for i work about a mile from home so when i let it run in the am before i leave would like to have it on high idle. the only other thing is if i get remote start woner if i can get it programed that it kicks on
|
you can leave the switch on the night before, so in the mornin when u remote start it itl be high idling
|
i didnt know if that would hurt it but thanks man

where is the switch? or where can i buy it from?

ppe has one, ask the vendors for one in the price quote forum they can hook ya up |
my 01 has a factory pto switch. that allows it to have a standby at 900 rpm(i think thats perfect) and also a 1250. my 02 didnt have the program in the tcm for it, it just has the 1250 and 1700rpm.
|
mine has 800, 1200, and 1800 idle speeds, all controlled by the cruise control
|
My boss has an 04 lb7 and gets jealous everytime my truck starts idling up on its on and he keeps telling me i need to figure out how to get his to do it. Is there a DIY kit or is it something that you have to buy a kit? Thanks
|
you can make your own swtich, you will need an ecm pin, wire, a switch, and a 12v source
i forget which slot in the ecm you have to put the pin in, ill look it up later. |
alright thats cool.. if you find it, hit me up on FB, i will probably forget to check the dmax section.... :moon:

I got mine from PPE (Pacific Performance Engineering). Took 30 mins to install, and works great. Works off the C/C switch. Im in Alaska so its necessary
