Problems With Starting

I have had my 2003 2500 Duramax for about 10 months and have really enjoyed the truck, but I have ran into a problem. I have put about 3,000 miles on it since I bought it. About a month ago I started to have problems with it not wanting to start after it warms up. It fires right up when I do a cold start. If I drive it for 15 minutes or so, turn it off, and try to start it within the next 20 minutes or a little longer, it won't start. It will crank and crank but just won't turn over. I have read plenty of forums and have a few ideas in my mind of what it could be. It doesn't smoke at all, has no loss of power, and no other symptoms of injector problems. Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be?

my first bet would be one or more bad injectors.

hot fuel is thinner and therefor leaks past the worn check valve easier and makes it harder to build pressure while cranking. the original injectors that where put in these trucks where also prone to cracking at the body and leaking fuel into the crank case and causing hot start problems. check for fuel in your oil

Yes. Chevy requested that some of the internals not get hardened against Bosch recommendation. The injectors failed prematurely. GM spec'd the injectors and sued Bosch and an agreement was made that is why the LB7 injectors are so cheap. Bosch subsidizes them because of GM's mistake!!!

You can test the injectors in the vehicle to get a good idea of what is going on. If you can isolate the bad injector and replace it or that bank you can get it done cheaper.

We can test them at full pressure for $30 if needed.

Make sure you are not having a fuel leak causing air to get in the system.
