Default Blocker Plate for the EGR

Hello Gents,

I have a 2004 6.6L LB7. 130,000miles and counting. No engine or transmission mods done.

I'm looking at getting an EGR Blocker Plate and was hoping to get some advice and questions answered. Any help is greatly appreciated.

#1 Does the EGR Blocker Plate throw any codes and/or the check engine light?

#2 If so do I need the Finger Stick mod or will a simple tuner fix the issue?

#3 If it does throw an engine code/check engine light will the truck still run normal or go into limp mode?

Again any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

Blocker plate will throw codes. EFI LIVE can shut it off without the blocker plate and it will run perfect. Blocker plate will only help when the boost hits over 20 psi and it causes the valve to kick open.

I'll be running over 20psi quite often.

Is it better to do the blocker plate or the complete delete?

LB7 Don't have an EGR. Duramax didn't install EGRs until 04.5 with the LLY. LB7's have no emissions

Default Blocker Plate for the EGR

I'm surprised how many people say that it's very interesting.

Never the less though the truck is an LB7 and it does have emissions controls including an EGR.

Mine is a 2002 and it has an EGR. some LB7's starting in 2002 came with EGR if they were a California emissions vehicle.

Go with the blocker and finger stick if you don't wanna go to the complete delete. I ran a blocker and finger for a couple months with no issues. Have since upgraded to full delete. Also went to EFILive and highly recommend it. What a difference.

There were lb7's that came with emission control on them. I read it was the lb7s that were built and being shipped into states that had smog control n all the regulations. California was a big one. I have an 03 lb7. No egr. A buddy of mine had an early 04 with an egr on it. He just did a full delete on it. Worked pretty good for him. But he ran it in the 1/4 mile more than on the road.

All Duramax engines are built here in the states. The factory is in Moraine, Ohio.
